I've been searching for over an hour with no problem - from Southern California. What part of the world are you located, maybe it's some geographic thing along the way.

Phoenix Arizona

I am able to ping and traceroute but do not get a page. Its hard for me do go solid IPs because of their load balancing and any round robin DNS they are doing.

My pings hit an IP of 216.239.57.99
My trace route hits 216.239.51.100

Both of those IPs bring up the web page but the domain does not. I am not having any problems with anything else. I'm gonna try to find an IP list of google servers so I can identify which one it is.

Most likely your ISP is haveing DNS issues. Happens sometimes.

Maybe Google were trialing servers from the same supplier as ODP use.

Back up now

Neither google.com worked nor www.google.com but all other subdomains I could find worked.

And if so and he pinged www.google.com he wouldn't have got to a Google IP.
