Google toolbar is ranking my company's intranet site

I'm riding with the Google 2.0 beta toolbar, and it has been showing a very low PR for my company's intranet pages (about .33 of a point). As far as I know I'm one of a handful of people in the company using the toolbar, and probably the only one with the Beta version.

Is my toolbar reporting the url to Google, and is Google now reporting PR back to me? There are no external links to this page, and authorization is restricted.

Any ideas on how this is happening?

The toolbar will report back the url of your intranet, as it will the url of any website you visit. However, if it's password protected, blocked by .htaccess or similar, then of course it won't rank in Google.com :)

Here's a fun thing to do when you get a chance: surf a new website (that has never been spidered before) with the toolbar installed, and advanced features enabled. I'm 99.9% sure that Googlebot will come crawling within hours of your visiting the website ;) Who says you can't get indexed quickly in Google these days, eh?

Now that sounds like an interesting research project to me. Thanks Jeremy!
