Are links from my my own website less important than links from other websites? I have seen a website owner which has created a footer on every of his own website. All are pointing to his other websites. At this way this guy produces more than 3500 links with only 5 of his own websites because he has lots of subsites and on every subsite you can find links pointing to his other websites. Are this "multiplev links" counted on the same way as an "normal links" from normal link exchanges with other (not own) websites?

I saw you asked nearly the identical question earlier this week. In case you lost the thread, here it is: [webmasterworld.com...]

Usually, only one link per site will count. However, this site you describe (if I understand it correctly) could easily be caught by Google for crosslinking. If you are considering duplicating his SEO tactics, you shouldn't ;) This type of success is usually short-lived.
