banned because of keyword density

I am wondering, why one of my pages gets a PR0 PageRank, since the last update. I did not use any 'tricks' or illegal techniques to promote my site. The only reason I can think of, is that either the link density is too high (about 90% of the text on the front page is link text, but what else is the purpose of an index page), or high keyword density (links are generated from a database, and since many links contain the keyword, density could be around 20%).

Thanks for your help!

Definitely not link text density. I've seen many pages with 100% link text density. I have a browser window open to one amateur site now, where a woman has a lot of pages that are just links to pictures of herself with descriptive anchor text, and nothing else. These pages have PR. While this sort of thing might be very odd for e-commerce sites, I see it not uncommonly with amateur ones. Thus it is something Google wouldn't want to penalize.

As for high KWD, I wouldn't expect that to be directly penalized. However, the algo might consider a page less relevant when KWD went over a certain level. 20% KWD isn't all that unusual when dealing with very short pages, such as 100 words or so.

Sounds like an interesting site you found there rfgdxm1! ;)

globay is your site new as loads of new sites at the moment have a PR0, Googleguy himself has said that the toolbar PR is all over the place at the moment so I would not worry too much at the mo.

Just wait for the dance to settle ....we are seeing sites go from PR0 to PR7 when doing refresh's.

ROFL. I hadn't considered what kind of site that might imply. For the record, in all pictures she was clothed. Unfortunately. ;)
