htaccess and missing index page in SERP's

I have been experiencing the index page missing dilemma, and I saw hetzeld's post about adding something to my htaccess file that would redirect mydomain.com to www.mydomain.com....when I went to my htaccess file, all that is there is this:

IndexIgnore *

Am I actually asking google to ignore my index page unknowingly? I just changed servers and this was in there automatically.

I don't think you need to worry, as long as you're not relying on Apache's automatic directory indexing.

[httpd.apache.org...]

If it was a problem, you'd see it in the browser too.
