White bar for webmaster@google.com

I've got a white bar on one of my sites (PR 0). I want to know if I should send in a request to webmaster@google.com to remove the penalty. I've read all the documents in WebmasterWorld about with bars, but I can't find any instance of GoogleGuy mentioning how to make a request for a white bar like the one he made for a gray bar:
[webmasterworld.com...]

Could anyone redirect me to a comment the big GG made about white bars?

If you're aware of reasons why you may be penalized, make the necessary corrections and send a message with the subject "reinclusion request" to webmaster@google.com.

Otherwise you may want to ignore the toolbar for awhile.

I think I would let if flow until we evntualy find out what google is up to. PR is in a mess just now and a lot of things tend to be in flux. Just wait until you get re-indexed.

Hope it woks out for you.

Mack.

coconutz has it right. A white bar in June 2003 is not necessarily a penalty. Then again, you know your site. If your code equates to engraved invites for penalties, it's not a bad month to devote some energy toward a spit shine.

Naw, I've had this white bar since October 2002.
I have removed everything that might possibly be a penalty in December/January, and I still have a white bar.

Is there any hope?
Has anyone, EVER, had a white bar removed?

(and I'm not talking about the white bar you get with a new site)

Hi Dave...

Worry.
A white bar means next month you will be listed beyond #1000. PR0 is infinitely lower than PR1.
