Took two weeks off...

Took two weeks in the south pacific (no computer) and figured all would be well by now on Google...

Returned last night and within 15 minutes received 3 completely different search results/ranking on the same keyword - and two of my sites had fallen drastically...

Can someone give me a one sentence overview where Google is at at the moment?

Google has made a mistake and the searching public and webmasters are all paying for it; they're attempting to rectify the situation.

I would have to agree with you - about the 'mistake' part - because the sites that have knocked us off the top are using spam techniques and/or are not that relevant to the keyword (epinions.com and vague portal sub pages)...

Should have stayed in Fiji!
