Searching Past 1000 Results?

I want to see past 1000 results.

Hello,

Is there a way to go beyond the limit of 1,000 results. I am really interested in seeing more results. I even tried [google.com...] but even that is restricting to a smaller number (only about 650).

Is there any way?

Only indirectly, you could get past the 1000 limit. Say there are 1400 results, when searching for

widget

and you can only see the first 1000. If you change the search to

widget blue

you can see all 850 about the blue ones. Searching for

widget -blue

gives the other 550 (1400 - 850). The second keyword ('blue' or '-blue') will influence the order in the SERP.

Other ways to get indirectly past the 1000 result involve using the advanced search page.
  • try excluding .xls, .doc, .pfd etc from the results.
  • ask for pages updated in just the last 3 or 6 or 12 months
  • ask only for domain .com or .org etc

The SERPS you get back won't map directly onto what would have been the 1001+ results, but they will list pages in relevant result order. By pasting them together and applying a bit of common sense, you can get an impression of the next couple of thousand results -- if all you want to do is see how far down a badly-ranking site is, these methods can help.

Thanks for the neat Ideas. But in my case, I really need to look at all the sites till about 5000 results.

Has anyone created such a tool using the API's?

I think the issue has more to do with the overhead associated with sorting past 1,000 results, go further than that and the system could bog down.

1-1000 of 50,000 results, but we only sort and print the first 1,000.

The SOAP API limits results to 1000. As far as I know all other methods hit the same limit too.
