to duplicated or not to duplicated?

By now is clear that my presumible banned site is not going to comeback any sooner (in the best of the cases) than after this next coming update but this is only assuming that one of this automatic one month ban has been applied to it

But, what if this is not the case and the site has been long term banned and as such does not comeback after the new update?
I really cant afford having to wait yet an extra month in order to start over should this be the case

I am thinking how about if I get another domain, I make a duplicate of the site and I just wait to see what happens...

By doing the above:
I believe that if the original site is to make it back (site is being deepcrawled daily as it used to), then will not be any problem with the duplicate site as simply will not be indexed. This is what I think since the original site have lots of links and therefore I presume google will choose to drop the newer one

On the other hand, if the original banned site dont make it back, at least there is a good chance than the duplicated site will make it and I would not have to wait an extra month

What do yours guys think?
Can I do more harm than good for not wanting to risk having to wait two months should the original site dont get reindexed and its pr restored?

Thanks very much

It isn't really a good idea to put up a whole duplicate site. Things are unstable now, unless it's an older established site that's been around for a while, it's hard to tell.

How old is the site, maybe it's not banned. Is it not in the index altogether?

Hi Marcia

Is a year and a half old website and its been consistently in number 1 position from its second month and right until this last Wednesday in which simply dessapear from the index

It is gone altogether and with a grey bar, gone form the index even searching for url and gone from Google directory too.
The site is also in Yahoo and DMOZ directories (still there)
Fortunately the site is also number 1 (or better say page 1) in many other search engines such msn, altavista, askjeeves etc and in neither one has suffered. Only on Google

Thanks

it does look a bit like that but as Marcia said Things are unstable now, so I would leave it for another few weeks just to see if it comes back in

Thanks

I know yours and Marcia are quite sound advises. The really problem here is that if waited and nothing happen this will mean an extra month and who can afford that

It would be okay if it was only my lost but my site advertisers (hundreds) are loosing too and I owe them to do something yesterday

Anyway, I recknown I better give a few weeks as yours advise just in case

Thanks again

jeyval, knowing that the site's been on line for that long with good rankings and disappeared just Wednesday puts a different slant on it.

There have been, and will be, penalties rolling out independently of updates. Just in case there's any hidden text on your site clear it up, because that was a for sure timed-release (not permanent) penalty with a re-check following to see if remedies are applied. It sounds to me like that may be a possibility. Not absolutely, but you never know.

I'd follow tigger's advice and wait if I were you, and make sure and go through the site thoroughly to make sure it's squeaky clean. It's very easy to unknowingly do something that's an innocent mistake on our part that happens to violate some rules we're unaware of.

Meantime, if there's substantial revenue loss and jeopardy with advertisers, you might consider AdWords as a temporary measure to keep some revenue flowing in and maintain good relations with your advertisers.
