Deep Crawl

Did anyone get deepcrawled last night?

I had 9,500 pages hit by the Google bots. I don't actually go into the logs to look for the exact bot but this is about as many pages as I normally get taken during the deep crawl.

But I won't, I was crawled, but I don't think it was the deepcrawl, just freshbot.

I don't know when Google last crawled my site. :/

I have checked through the logs for the past two weeks, and I have looked up IP addresses using whois, but I have not found a google bot, even though I am still holding top 10 positions for the majority of my keywords.

How do u know if u got deep crawled or not? Please let me know. Is google having problem with indexing? Because many of my sites are not where it use to be. If there is a problem please some one let me know what is the problem. thanx

64.x and googlebot = freshbot
216.x and googlebot = deepbot

Whether or not Google has problems is a matter of conjecture. There are a number of threads within this newsgroup to look at and draw your own opinions.

The current line is that an update / re-indexing is taking place unlike any others that have taken place before.

A new index is rolling in over the 9 data centers as we speak.

Once the new index is in then it will be refined with spam filters, backlinks and other adjustments.

Until that happens, and there are no dates given or implied, then it's a waiting game.

a freshbot, that had an epileptic seizure whilst crawling, displaying my asp code! in the snippet for one page...its reverted now...phew
