How can I remove an unwanted link

Hello everybody and great to be in such good company.

Having seen one of my clients website go down the ranking chain in Google for no apparent reason (from 5 to beyond 500), I have come to realize that a number of websites, which I had never heard off before have placed links on their site to my client's.

Any attempt I make to have those links removed is not even acknowledged and some of the sites either list false emails, or no email at all.

Any idea whay I should be doing now? Should I forget about that site and copy its content over to a different webname, and start from scratch at re-working the incoming links?

Anxiously,

Jacqwo

Hi Jacqwo

Welcome to WebmasterWorld

Don't worry about links on other sites so long as you don't link back to them it won't harm your sites
