Dont know if anyone else has had this problem, my site is no longer listed on Google.

Pages ranked well, good PR, now nuffing.

Im using the same format and layout on all the pages, pure html text with pictures.

Any ideas?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Essex_boy,

How long has your site been in the Google index? How old is the site? Are you the first owner of the domain name?

I think we're in the same boat Rainman, but my situation is a little different.

I've been in google for 14 months now, and I've been ranking well for my keywords.

Title is Keyword Pair, Keyword Pair, & Keyword Pair for my index (also used in meta's, backlinks, content) and is obviously my bread & butter for the site.

In the past week I've been dropped for all 3, although I can still be found for my weak keywords, the backpages off my site. I had read that some feel it has to do with heavy identical keyword occurance for the title, meta tags, and page content. Although a competitor of mine has literally copied my title and meta tags and uses the keyword almost as frequently, but is ranking better than ever ( probably b/c of my disappearance ;) )

I have a feeling I should just ride this out and see what happens in the next week...although I'd see if anyone has any suggestions.

Thats interesting, sort of glad that Im not the only one in a way.

Im the first owner of domain and ive been listed in Google since late summer of last year.

I have not updated the site in the last three months, though I doubt thats the cause.

you know Google is really starting to suck, I was well placed then they change the aloga so I started again, well ranked now, soooo they change the ranking system again.

what are they playing at?

I hate to keep replying to these types of messages, because I know it will probably get the thread banned, but you're gonna have to stop worrying about what you did right or wrong. You didn't do anything wrong. This is all about Google going public. Buy some keywords and don't worry about it.

Buy some keywords? No im sorry but that really isnt acceptable, google is a success only because people like me and you submit our sites to it and then use it on a day to day basis.

At a matter of courtesy from Google a (uptodate) guide to getting (and remaining) listed should be available on the site.

I dont mind them dropping my site from the listing I am after all b2b but please do not drop me altogether.

but hey does anyone know why this has happened?

Hey guys, Google is in the middle of a lengthy and extensive update. They seem to be making major changes to their algos, they seem to do this about every six months. See Understanding Dominic [webmasterworld.com] for some details. Best to wait patiently until it all settles down a little.

Ok ill wait as I dont have anyother option. Im really going to be very unhappy if I have been banned and to not know why is way out of line.

Anyone for a jihad?
