This is very strange. I was doing some searches on Google using the Phoenix 0.5 browser to avoid on window open popups. It shows different serps vs doing the exact same search and the same datacenter (www.google.com) on IE 5.5.

On checking Yahoo backlinks, the Phoenix 0.5 browser showed 617,000 and the IE 5.5 browser showed 661,000. I even changed the settings on IE to disable permanent cookies which is what I have set with Phoenix.

www.google.com is not a datacenter. each time you do a lookup it will send you to a different datacenter. IE and Phoenix did different lookups so they went to different datacenters.

Well, over the course of several hours, Phoenix consistently sent me to one datacenter and IE to the other. It was not random in any way.

That is because you do not do a DNS lookup each time you access it. It caches the results of the lookup.

Actually I tried it with Firebird (Pheonix 1.6) and the results came up differently. Whoah.. I though. I then I noticed that the new/crappy Google index has updated onto www. <sigh>
