PR Fluctuation

I'm seeing a few of my sites flucuating between PR7 and PR0. These sites were PR7 - and now the toolbar is showing PR0. Just browsing around the Internet, I'm seeing a lot of sites that shouldn't be PR0 show PR0 in the toolbar. Anybody else seeing this? It just happened today.

It's not anything to worry about. It is quite common for the toolbar to not function proerly during an update cycle.

What the heck!? I just removed a couple outbound links from my home page and it jumped to PR5.

So I look to see if my position has changed in google.. it hasn't, but I click the link from there to go to my site and now my PR is 4?!?

What gives?

Anx, please read around a little bit in this forum here, especially in the update threads. Lots of people seeing the same fluctuations. This is absolutely normal behaviour during update periods.

Also, we know that it may take a while for the current backlinks to show in the new Google versions. As far as I can tell, the Toolbar data from the sj/fi datacentres are also based on old backlinks.

This does not seem to affect the rankings, which seem to be based on a more current link index.

I can't think that I'm really going to be hit w/ PR0 - the sites have improved ranking in the SERps. Still, it is hurting my feelings to see that on my sites. ;)

For what it's worth, I checked my PR through all the data centers this morning and found 1 showing PR0.

The site in question was only awarded its first true PR in the April update. Reading around the other threads, I deduced that the PR0 showing up was due to one of the datacenters using an old index for development - or words to that effect.

Like Heini says: PR fluctuations anyhow during an update...

Me too! Seeing my site drop down to a PR4 is a bit depressing, but then 10 minutes later it's PR5 again.

I know fluctuations in PR are normal during a dance, but there does seem to be "bigger fluctuations" IMO

Quick question. How do you check your PR on the www2. -sj. data centres? I can check the results in SERPS OK but when I go to the Directory it defaults to the google.com main directory. Thanks and excuse my ignorance.

I think that google has a partnership with the drug prozac. When I see my site with a PR0 during the dance, this is dreadful for my heart

Guys

Judging from the comments in the other threads it is quite clear that the PR values you will be seeing are from a couple of months back.

Nothing to worry about, will all correct itself once current backlinks etc taken into account.

Does everyone think that updates from now on are going to go on like this?

Perhaps Google has put it's money into Mental Health Stocks. ;)
