2 day old site PR2 ; 3 monts old sit PR0

What the heck have I done wrong?

Hi all,

2 days old site not backlink (I don't know how google found me ;) ) 3+ months old site some pr6 backlinks!

just a question, do you think that this is the result of the older site beeing punished and is there a way to check if a site is punished by google?

Do these sites have identical content?

no one is in french/english the other in english only (I took good care of modifying the content enough not to have similar ones)

Moreover it's the new site that has the bigger pr

I think you will find the 2 day old site does have a backlink somewhere, even though Google doesn't show it. Try All The Web, it may find the backlink(s).

Freshbot has added the 2 day old site, and the toolbar has guessed the PR.

You may find the 2 day old site disappears again, this is normal for sites added by Freshbot...enjoy for now! It will probably come back after the next update, not dominic but the one after that, although with the current changes....who really knows what may happen in the future.

As for your PR0 site, it sounds link a penalty, especially if it has been indexed and the PR6 backlink has been in place for a few months.
