It appears that google has permanently indexed my old site, which for 7 months, has been a permanent redirect to my new url/site. But I can't seem to do better than a googlebot to my new site, even after 7 months.

I'm pretty frustrated and wonder what to do? DMOZ isn't helping. I've been waiting 3 months to get reviewed there and I think they're on sabatical... Any ideas? Is my html messing things up? Why does Google love my web alias (?) so much, and not my new site? Thanks!

Steve, you'd better remove the url's from your posting or a mod will remove them. Not allowed per TOS [webmasterworld.com] and Charter [webmasterworld.com].

from what i see, google's indexed the first one .. and the first one isn't redirecting to the new one. the first one is staying 'as itself' when you go to it. what kind of redirect are you doing?

As per Yidaki, best to remove your URL.

Had a quick look at your site and dont think that Googlebot will have to may problems following the links - might be better to tidy them up a bit but I dont see this as a problem.

If you type in allinurl: followed by your domain in Google you will see that you have got some pages listed on your new URL.

Best to try and build up links from other sites and not rely to much on DMOZ (Just treat DMOZ as a bonus link if you get one)

Cheers

Further to my post....sorry had a further look :)

Try HTML links not Javascript - that will make a large difference.

You said your old site has a permanent redirect to your new domain. by the by, other posters are correct and you need to edit to remove the domain names from your post.

However, since the domains are listed for now, by plugging the domain names into Big G, I found that both have a listing.

Clicking on the serp for domain 1 took me to domain 1.

Clicking on the serp for domain 2 redirected me to domain 1.

That's the exact opposite of what you said you did for your redirect.

Thanks! I will check on what my server said is a permanent 301 redirect. Do you think that might be the thing that's preventing a permanent index from google of the new site?

Just used the Server Header Check [webmasterworld.com] for the 2 domains. Both give a '200 OK' so there is no 301 redirect. The pages of both sites look very similar. Google usually puts the oldest site in the index in case of 'duplicate content'. But in this case both sites are in (14 and 5 pages indexed).
