Have added to an "A to Z" listing of a section of a website with

<meta name="robots" content="index,follow">

Was trying to get google to update current page in a section of our website and add new pages.

But have added this in over a month and a half ago but have not seen in google yet.

Any comments will be appreciated

welcome to WebmasterWorld mattricks,

I assume the rest of the site is already in the Google index?
Did you place some internal links towards that new page?
You might want to check www-sj.google.com to see if you new page is in that pre-update index, otherwise give it a couple of days to see if it is included in the complete update.

Thanks for the info. Using www-sj.google.com to find the the pages returns much higher results from www.google.com.
I have added a couple of pages generated automatically an A to Z of pages in the section of the site which I want google to crawl through and update.

How long am I looking at to expect the www-sj.google.com to get moved across to www.google.com.

Thank you for your help.

That is the $64,000 question...we're all waiting to find that out. :)

Google has a number of datacentres where the data seems to be updated before the official version makes its way to www.google.com

At the moment, www2.google.com and www3.google.com are the servers that people normally see these effects on first. They appear to be the same results as googles san jose server at www-sj.google.com.

So the thinking is the www-sj.google.com will be the new index.

ok?

It looks like this meta tag
<meta name="robots" content="index,follow">
does work.
Thank you all for letting me know about the different google sites to check for updates. Is this what they call the google dance and if so does anyone have any more detailed information about it?
