Hi,

I donīt know is anybody else has seen this on their sites, but how is it possible, that I am number 1 for a keyword in google.com and no.3 on google.co.uk

and how is it possible, that I am no.1 on google.co.uk, but am no.3 on google.com, but am beaten by sites, which are under me on google.co.uk

if nobody knows the answer, Googleguy, it would be nice, if you could help out. Do they have different algos?

And the last question is, why sometimes Google is choosing a web page, which clearly is not that optimised for a certain keyword and shows that one on page 3-4, instead of showing the optimised page (normally optimised, no spam) on page 1, where it was before.

Would be nice, if somebody could shed some light into this.

thanks

I've also come across sites ranking better on .com than .co.uk and would be very interested if anyone knows the reason for this.

*bump*

Any ideas anyone? Why would a site do better on .com than in the uk unless the also is different for country specific seaches?

Different filters I guess, would be logical.

Travel results are ranked differently on local Googles. Having keywords in the URL for regional searches gives a boost on regional Googles, but not on Google.com

It kind of makes sense if you think about it. Travel searches are among the few on the web where your target is to find something as far away as possible.
