Thought this might bring a smile to someone. My 15 year old son was assigned an essay(as discipline). Being the teenage boy that he is, he tried to take the easy way out. He cut and pasted the entire contents of someone's site, made a few changes, and gave it to me. Kand of a neo-Cliff's Note's approach.

I challenged him. He swore up and down that this was his orginal composition.

Google was able to find the site in question in less than 30 seconds. i only wish that I had a picture of my kids face when the damning evidence of the website in question appeared on my monitor. :)

We may not always like how Google treats us and our sites, but in this case Google did its job admirably.

There is a company out there, plagiarism.org that has a bot and does the same thing for college professors with submitted essays.
