I have to recently kill 2 sites off for one company which was been doing well in google and make the 2 sites into 1 site at a new website address.
Now that is done, I put a permanent redirect on the 2 old domains to the new website ( this was 2-3 months ago )
The new site was indexed in lasts months re-index BUT there is a problem. On a few pages tailered for the specific areas of the site google seems to be mixing things up a little
e.g:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Searched the web for Widgets
Results:
Blue widget and Red Widgets by WidgetCompany ( New Title )
Blue widget and Red Widgets by WidgetCompany ( New Description )
[oldsiteaddress.co......] ( old address )
-----------------------------------------------------------
So the engine has found the new pages and content but it has listed them under the old website address even though the filenames are different and the old files dont exist any more!
Is there any way to have google show the new address? Also when my PR be split because of this?. Note: there are no pages on the old sites just permanent redirects.
Thanks
Steve
