I agree. I'll lay out the entire scoop to a client and the smart ones realize that there's a lot of work and a lot of knowledge involved and it makes more sense business-wise to contract for these services.
Then, there are the type 1 clients who proudly think they've manipulated you into revealing "secrets" in the form of free consulting, but once they realize that there's a big gap between theoretical understanding and producing meaningful results, the phone rings again.
(and there are a few who "discover" Overture and smugly think they've found the secret)

The professional will speak little and read a lot. The other will go to great lengths to share their personal insight regardless of the facts or consequences of their actions. They speak a lot and listen little, not for the purpose of generating additional revenue for their business, rather to hear the sound of their own voice being sooo clever.

Although there is a little truth in that... this is one place that defies this statement -- catagorically. Lurkers read alot and add nothing... and the well-informed here are all active posters.
If they weren't -- I suspect the membership would have died-out and a quality link farm would have developed in its place.
