Google has updated my site for the first time this month and although some important backlinks are recognized many are not. Is this typical? Does it take a few updates for Google to recognize all of them?

aggie12thman,

Google will only show backlinks with a PR that is 4 or above. Do a site search, or read up on the Google knowlegde base.

this is possible.

i have a site with PR4, and it shows no backlinks, as all the backlinks to it have a PR value of under 4.

The link:www.domain.com will only show backlinks which are of or over a certain value (and this is 4)

Have a look through the google faq page at search engine world: Here [searchengineworld.com]

Sites under PR4 don't make it into the backlink check at all. So if your site has PR3 or less, you won't be able to see any of its backlinks, and if your site is PR4 or over you'll only see the backlinks that are also PR4 or over.
