Alexa showing wrong pages, could this be my problem with Google?

I have a bunch of sites that I work with that reside on a single UNIX server. I have never been able to get any of these sites to do well on Google. Sites that are on my Microsoft server seem to respond well to search engine optimization.

Recently, I found Alexa. When I check page rankings of any of the sites on the UNIX server, they do not show the correct page. In fact, they all show the same exact site in the preview window. The site that is shown was the first site ever set up on this server. The information for the "owner" is also incorrect.

My concern is that Google is seeing the exact same thing and that is why I am doing so poorly on the Google rankings.

The sites do show correct on the Google Cache Copy.

Any idea why Alexa is showing these incorrectly or how to fix it?
Any way to confirm that Google is in fact catalogging the correct information?

I can sticky the URLs if anyone is interested in looking.

Hi Skylighter.

Alexa gets its results straight from Google, although i'm unsure as to how they get the preview images. That said, they update these images very infrequently and don't visit sites to check these very often. One of my sites was under construction for a 7 day period several months ago, and Alexa happened to visit the site then. It stills shows the 'under construction' page. Also, there is only ever one image per site/domain, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Your best bet is to ignore alexa completely and focus on what Google returns for your site.

This is a point for some concern. Your pages may not be linked in a way that Google can see, or you may be using scripts (e.g. javascript) that it doesn't understand.

Search Google for a search engine spider simulator to get an idea of how 'spiderable' your pages are, and what th problem might be.

If you are really stuck, sticky me the url and I will give you some specific feedback.
