Google and Chefmoz

How often does Google look at chefmoz

I assume that Google trawls Chefmoz as often as any other site. However, I have seen a large number of restaurant descriptions (some on there for a number of months) that are not cached by Google or able to be found on the searches, despite having a pr4. Yet other restaurants can be found. My own site is searched by Google better.

I have recently become an editor and am keen on the restaurants being found. Probably best to have links from my site so they have another reason to be found by Google.

Any comments?

I have had a quick look at Chefmoz New Zealand - consistantly only the first ten restaurant pages for each city have been cached by Google.

I would imagine that Chefmoz is treated the same as any other site...I don't think it has nearly the PR of DMOZ, so that might explain the reason things there won't update as fast as dmoz proper, for example.

Looks like their robots.txt file disallowed access to the cgi bin for a while and the listings only showed the first 10 before they had a complicated url (to long for Google)that went to the next... Standard optimisation issues that they have now got sorted out. Just takes time for the bots to find the new layout.

Slightly offtopic --

ChefMoz had some internal mail and form submit problems that have recently been fixed. In addition, they've recently started more intensively linking ChefMoz from DMOZ.

As a result over the last few days there have been many more editors added. ChefMoz should start rapidly improving.
