Hi,

looks like I've been penalised by Google.

That's how I did it:
I wanted to count the users having Javascript disabled. So I put a script on the site which redirected everybody to an intermediate page. This intermediate page contained only a script-tag checking the JS- and Flash-settings of the user agent and a noscript-tag for user agents without JS.

On March 5th this redirect page was spidered two times by the googlebot (js not enabled ;-)). Last Google update (as all of you probably know): March 6th. Since then my page rank is zero (Don't know what it was before - the less popular German version (.de) still has PR3).

Now I'm curiosly waiting for the next update (user agent "googlebot" isn't redirected any more). Do you think I have a chance to recover?

Greetings from Germany,
Peter

Welcome to WebmasterWorld petkle [webmasterworld.com]

Eventually, there is no doubt you'll recover.

As to whether it will be this update, I really don't know.

[confusion]
why would that give a PR0?
are <noscript> tags banned outright now?

VVV: Redirects are potential abuse. (Example: Purpose built page designed to score high with a particular subject & redirect to totally different page full of spam....)
