We are in the process of setting up a new dynamic OSCommerce shopping cart based site. Now, from Google's point of view, which of the following might be better? Any suggestions shall be appreciated.
1. Static index page in root, pointing to php cart at www.mysite.com/shop/
2. Php cart (index.php) residing in root itself, rather than in subdirectory.

Well, most find root level pages tend to do a bit better across all the se's - not just Google. Most also find dynamic extensions won't perform as well as static ones. Users don't want to link to dynamic content, and se's are still not fond of them either. So dynamic leads to a double whammy - no links - no rankings - poor performing dynamic sites.

OO one of my favorite subjects..

Go with option 1, with the further recommendation of using Ian's Loaded CVS version of osC.
