Wow. I can't it's been already been 1000 posts on WebmasterWorld. I joined about a year and a half ago, so that averages out to a couple posts a day. Sheesh. :)

Seems like it was just a few weeks ago that the Google News forum passed 100K posts, but now it's already up to 121,846. Congrats to Brett and the moderators for running such a fun forum; it's a great place to hang out, answer questions, and talk about search engines. Thanks Brett!

congrads GG!

I like it very much to read some stuff that is posted before we got problems e.g. the expired domain thing. That´s the biggst benefit of that you´re being here.

Thanks very much!

you only needed 18 months to reach the mille - hmmm, I am here since august 2000 ... what can I do to improve the numbers of my postings? I assume some answers like "yep", "here too", "no update yet", "I disagree", "I agree" could help a lot ;-)

Would someone please put me on the memo list! I was under the impression that the next who is GG rumor was to be Craig and then Monika. ;-)

Any suggestions GG for the site?

>I'm thinking about making him an honorary mod

Carefull! Think about all the rumors:

"you have to be a WebmasterWorld member to get indexed faster"
"your ranking will get a boost if you are a WebmasterWorld member"
"your adwords click through rate will explode if you subsribe to WebmasterWorld"
"you are on the safe site if you post at WebmasterWorld"
"your competitors will get booted if you post a spam report at the GoogleGuy forum"

Or is this your strategie, genius? ;)

<added>ahem, btw - congrats GG!</added>

"What if GG decides to go for HIS nuke button?"

I wonder what other buttons he has .....

Update button (red and glows)
Dance button (scrambles all serps just for fun)
Algo change button (smiley face on it)

and his favourite...

Cryptic clue button. (with 3.14159 on it.... hmmm)

I was thinking more along the lines of a leopard colored fez. Kind of like what Howard Cunningham wore as Grand Puba of the Leopard Lodge in Happy Days....am i off base here? Perhaps a new thread in Foo ...

Congratulations GG - thats some furious posting. Good werk!

Hey GG...congratulations and thanks for all of the help. You're actually the reason I choose to spend my time at WebmasterWorld versus any of the other SEO forums out there...and time is limited so my choice was carefully selected!

Hee hee. One of my favorite WebmasterWorld moments: someone was saying something interesting, so I click to check out their profile. Their location was listed as "Larry Page's closet" or something like that. :)

MHes, I agree--I need more buttons to press! :)

Welcome to the 1k club GoogleGuy, you've done a great deal for webmaster relations.

> That's right, gopi. :) Before that, it was 1.618 something..

Drat. The whole time I've been looking for 0.618 something. Maybe Google Sets [labs.google.com] can unlock some of the magic numbers?

Congrats GG,

You often go far and beyond the call of duty and whilst you may not be able to assist every person out there with there individual problem or situation (only 24hrs in a day) the ones you are able to assist are truly grateful. It does make a massive difference.

It reminds me of the story of the child walking along the beach where thousands of starfish have just been washed ashore. The child picks up a starfish and just as he is about to throw it back into the ocean an old man says to the child,
"What are you doing, there are thousands of starfish here, that's not going to make any difference".

The child throws the starfish back into the ocean and says....."it made a difference to that one"

Anyway, enough rambling....your greatly appreciated here....but i think it's about time the company you worked for stopped thinking you were a computer...

GoogleGuy,

congratulations on reaching the big 1k.

Hope Webmasterworld send you a blanket or something (actually 2 blankets) :)

Any chance of getting Kate to try and reach that target, we are crying out for her comments in the Google adwords forum (u know the 1 where mad people pay money to be listed)

1000 eh! looks like the following applies to you:

10) When you begin to laugh you yell, LOL.

9) You tell your computer you love it, more than you tell your spouse.

8) Your house catches on fire and you run home to save your computer before your family.

7) Your computer is your ONLY friend.

6) You think cyber #$% is better than real $%^.

5) You type only in short hand (YO ROFLMAO I'LL BRB B4 U RTFM LOL).

4) You type 40 words a minute with two fingers.

3) Your twins are named RAM & ROM.

2) After breaking from your computer, you realize you have gained 40lbs, have grown hair in unusual places, your spouse and kids have left you, and Windows 3.1 is outdated.

1) YOU READ STUFF LIKE THIS!

GG Well Done. I like interpreting the messages you post. I had a great idea for Google to get more exposure that would be worth a passing thought .. An incoming link to google weather it be the home page, news or what ever worth a little something extra in the Algo.

Hey we should get a tiny credit for bringing our sites visitors attention to the best search engine in the world . That is top info we are providing. Hey soon the whole word would know about google not just half .. I am sure most webmasters would place a link on there pages for that little edge, its win win all around. Googles give most of us so much.

Or Does that already exist?
