I have 7 domains with PR5. I have one domain i labor over for hours trying to make it a PR6. It has about 120 backlinks, no spam tactics, and solid content. What do you miracle workers do to get a PR6?

Something I have never figured out is that we have two related sites (one is all info and specs, one is ecommerce). Both are PR6.
We have a competitor who has been PR7 for months.
Yet on almost every important keyword (about 20) search, we come up ahead (usually on both our sites) - in many cases FAR ahead (like we are #2 and he is 63). Here are the stats:

1. He has more backlinks (but a lot of his are low PR, and many are very old)
2. His domain is older, but has changed owners 3 times in the past two years. He seldom updates, we update constantly, 2-3 times a week.
3. We have never done any real optimizing except for the basic stuff.
4. Neither uses java, flash, or any other non-html to any great extent.
