Also think i am being penalized for having backlinks in jsp pages that are
/foo/bar/page.jsp?param=444
whereas a competitor does much better for backlinks from jsp pages by doing the following:
/foo/bar/page444.jsp
DOH!

<Just seems to me that when you check the backlinks after an update that foobar.jsp will give a backlink point, whereas foo.jsp?bar=x will not....>
Links generally won't show up as backlinks unless their PR is 4 or greater. If the PR of the JSP page is less than PR4, that could explain why it doesn't show up on a search. But don't worry, it still counts :-).
Another thing i am *experiencing* is that the dance seems faster this time (well for my category anyway) than it has done before. Seems that things are stabilizing far faster than they have done in the past.
Anyone else care to comment?
Mars 2 i wrote to google about it (help@google.com) but didn't get any response.
Yesterday I read GoogleGuys post that every website that was punished and have wrote to Google about it was going to be respidered again.
But why is my website still not spidered?
Okay, seems like everybody is in pretty good hands. This is a great forum because so many people chip in to answer other people's questions. I'm heading off to bed soon. Hope everyone gets more pages indexed, and see you tomorrow!

There probably won't be another deep crawl for at least a few more days, if not a week or so. Since GoogleGuy made the post yesterday, that probably indicates things to come in the future (i.e. Your site should be crawled next time), not retroactively (i.e. We're going back in time to crawl your site) :-).
It's taken me about 30mins to read all the posts in this thread so far and I only really have one comment:
GoogleGuy, on behalf of every webmaster that has been worried over the past weeks, I would like to thank you for your input in this thread and the many others you regularly contribute to.
From what I read the majority of people in here are happy with the new index as it stands at the moment so well done to you guys. I would wager a guess that the reason why you guys have gone "up in the [SE]world" is because of the feedback you have received from this forum. So a big thank you to Brett and the rest of the mods here at WebmasterWorld. I know for a fact that in the 3-or-so years that I've been aware of WebmasterWorld I have learnt so much valuable information!
For those of you that aren't happy with the way things have gone I would say, wait for a couple of days 'til the dance dies down and things begin to settle. If things are still bad after this period, then you should consider contacting google.
Now, time to write some more content :)
Best wishes everyone,
Sticky
I'm not big on reporting "spam" since I don't believe I am an authority on what "spam" really is. What I would perceive as bad for business may not be what google users believe is garbage.
In saying that... ranked #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11 through 15 (all the domain & sub-domains) are all gone. Got the Google boot (they must be real happy now!)
Move from #8 to #3 and competing with some good quality stuff.
Appreciate the fine tuning.
Rod
Also no better way to say thanks to Brett then by using this link [webmasterworld.com...] With all these google threads I think he needs a few more servers :)

I see a changed www2 (692,000) and www3 (692,000), but
www is still 642,000.
Why?
Also.. I see a bunch of backlinks added to my www.___.com
on www2 and www3.. but my results for my targeted keywords
are a big let down. I have been receiving a lot of traffic for the past few days and when I WAS in the index and not dropped due to Everflux.
I am cringing because on www which is still 642,000 my targeted keywords page results are still pretty good.
Can someone please explain to me now that I have the backlinks in the index (one of them to a SPOT 1, PAGE 1, 1 WORD keyword site).. how come I am having worse search results for my pages on www2 and www3 , when supposedly that is what is suppose to give you credibility around here.
If www's update ends up being the same as www2 and www3 , I will just give up because my site is unique and awesome and getting 200 repeat visitors a day from only being debuted in mid January.
Please explain.
<But GoogleGuy said that the crawl (for punished websites) was going to be in 24 hours...>
If I recall correctly, he didn't say anything about sites being crawled within 24 hours; he said that penalized sites would re-enter the index within 24 hours. But certain sites would need to wait for a full crawl/index cycle, which is normally about one month.
So that would seem to indicate that sites requiring a crawl would need to wait about one month before re-entering the index.
