Cloaking to basically display lite version of page

From what I have been reading on here cloaking to present effectively a lite version of your pages is ok with the SE's.

Is that a correct statement?

My cloaked pages are basically the same stuff I would pass my users sans the CSS and some redundent information.

My personal opinion is that it is "OK". The engines haven't been specific about it.
