Hi: I just found a peice of source code on a site that I copied and was trying to post here but everytime I preview it, it's changed completely? I wanted to know it was cloaked key words since they don't show up on the web page.
Thanks Jim

Jim, generally we would prefer not to have code posted here, if it is copied from another site. Perhaps you could describe the relevant parts instead.

Sorry! In the head tags is a bunch of keyword that don't show on the page.<1--ch1E keyword, keyword, keyword, ect. ch1E--> It's close to this as I don't have all the correct keys on my keyboard.
Thanks Jim

Sounds more like an html issue here at WebmasterWorld.
Are the chars from a different language or somthing? - When I print danish chars in this textarea I get funnu little boxes instead.
But when I hit submit they show up on the page just fine...

Hi Nick: I don't think it's a different language. The C has a little tail on it and the E has a little tail leaning to the left. The site was designed in the U.S.

Well, doesn't sound like anything dodgy to me. Silly maybe, but not dodgy ;)

Thanks Nick: This site was in the basement for the past year and all of a sudden they started an affiliate program and changed their title and to the top floor they went. I was just looking at their source to figure out HOW.

Titles are pretty powerful things. I should think it's a fluke. They probably just hit the 'button' by mistake...
But maybe they hired a pro, or spent some time hanging out here ;)

Hi The characters are listed in the ascii extended code. The C is #128 and the E is #144. I hope that helps.

If they're in comment tags, then it's not going to do help in the search engines.
The weird characters: I've seen those in another web site, also commented out.
In this case, it wasn't a spam effort. I suspect either it was an East-European designer/Q&A Team (?) or else some weird wysiwyg artifact.
