Very cryptic guys, but I just want to know what the hell is it? Is it Altavista or is it someone playing around with a redirect.

Speaking of a 100% frame, will a search engine rank
these or not put these in their database?
In other words, does this work as a method of cloaking?

lizzie, yes it does work to a degree, you would also need to have a noframes section with the page to be indexed. This method is sometimes referred to as poor man's cloaking.

There are other things to consider as well, like breaking out of the frame when a link is clicked on, handling incoming links, and making sure that duplicate pages are not indexed by the search engines, since you won't be able to serve to specific engines you will likely have multiple pages.

It's probably more work than cloaking, less convenient, and not as effective. In any case it will do nothing to improve ranking, in fact it will lower it on some engines.

It could be a good option if you use a "free" host or are hosting an ISP with limited features. Also, may be something to consider if you are uncomfortable with server side scripting.

This is very much a gag folks. Look at [has.it ]. It is a free url service.

WordSmith - where did you come across this url?

Did a search for "cloaked page" after I got bored sending different spiders at a cloaked site I found to see how it worked, wanted another example to play with as a comparison.
I dont see why those guys would send all the traffic to their entry page off to altavista tho. Doesnt make sense to me.

It isn't a very popular search term, maybe worth two hits a month if they're lucky.

Hi,
well I am one of the creators of has.it redirections, so maybe I can explain URL [cloaked.has.it....]

It's only an example how a cloaked page looks like when using our forwarding.

That's it
