Back in May 2000 Brett_Tabke announced the end of cloaking on all their sites.

Is this still the case? Has cloaking stepped up the game against search engines?

I'm thinking about getting some software but before i do i'd like to know that i'm not giong to shoot myself in the head and the foot.

Can anybody report success with it?

I like to build the spider page in such a way that even if it is detected, it should always be "acceptable". The use of a Flash index page will give you an almost unlimited choice for a spider page. If you take the position that, when you get caught for cloaking: Build your pages with this in mind, and you will already be ahead of your competition. One of the biggest mistakes is to feed a spider a page that any human will take one look at and know exactly what you are doing. Put images on your spider page, even if you are building a Lynx version.
