Hi,

Say I were to accidentally not set the background color of a page, and say I were to, um, accidentally set a text color to the same as the default page color of a browser (eg dirty gray for Netscape) would this be picked up on?

I don't think it would be worth the risk.

Different browsers have different defaults, the point would be to hide it from regular visitor's while not getting the SE's flags up. But visitors using different browsers would see it, so in the end might as well just make it visible.

that's more or less what I had posted, but unless you are submitting to one of the se's or directories that reviews them by hand, I think that he could get away with it.

That doesn't mean that you should do it, or that I would.

Speaking of the same thing, what is the current situation with colors and table backgrounds?

There used to be a problem with it, and it has been ages since I've even thought about it, but I wonder if any engines still have a problem with it? eg: body white background/black text, and a table that is black background/white text.
