The site works OK on my PC but other people have said that they can't access the site properly on their PCs because the ActiveX has been blocked by their browser.
Am I right in believing that this might be due to the security settings in Explorer? If so, apart from posting a request on the site to get visitors to reduce their security settings is there anything I can do to change the actual site to avoid this happening?
Any help would be much appreciated.
As I can almost hear the massed ranks of webmasters and SEOs gathering behind me with this answer, I'll be quick, hopefully merciful, and say that you've answered your own question.
Why build a site which any proportion of people can't see when there are so many other alternatives?
Sure, if you want to use Flash, go ahead and do it. A certain percentage of people will never be able to see it though (you're talking to one at this moment) so it just makes sense not to use it for something vital like site navigation....
(Pssst. Search engines also tend to evaluate straight text links better.)
