Html folder handling

im using the cute news script.
when i try to add it to a sub domain i get an error of file not found i know why its happening.
my problem is how do you link out of directory b and goin to the another directory like this

lets say im in directory b
http://www.example.com/b/ and i need to get to
http://www.example.com/c/

ive tryed c/ and /c/ none have worked can somone help me with this.
