iFrame request for help

iFrame

Hi,

I have set up a Flash menu embedded in an iFrame. When clicking on a link, the target loads the correct page, but there is one additional thing that I want to do.

The flash movie refreshes when clicking on the link. Each target page has to have the iFrame embedded as far as I can tell to make this work. I want to be able to click a flash link and not have the movie refresh while the page changes.

I tried to float one iFrame over another using the <div tag, but that just caused some really bizarre results.

Thanks,

Hello Hurican, and a very belated welcome to the forums.

As far as I can see, the only way to accomplish this would be to have the links in the Flash movie target another iframe on the same page. If you load a completely new page, the movie will begin over again as far as I know.

However, maybe there is a way to "bookmark" your user's place in the movie, and pass that parameter along? I don't do much with Flash but I know that wonders are possible by using actionscript that's available in recent versions.

If targeting a second iframe on the same page won't work in your case, you may find some help if you ask in our Flash and Shockwave Forum [webmasterworld.com].
