It appears that this is a fairly widespread error. Searching the Internet, I see many help pages out there (including the Oklahoma Bar Association, Longwood University, and the Cuyahoa Library) that mention the error. I can't find anything with more details or a solution, though.

Does anyone know which AOL browsers are affected? Is it just 9.0? I'm considering detecting the browser and recommending that affected AOL users switch to IE or Firefox.

I have only encountered reports of this error when people are trying to send data from AOL browsers via “submit” button on a web form. I even went through the lengths to call AOL and ask the same question you are now. I was told “We are working on it, it should be fixed by the next release.” Here we are, a version later, and it still happens. I keep a “This site is best viewed in IE or Firefox and is not supported by any version of AOL" disclaimer on the bottom of the index page. Sorry I don't have a solution for you, but wanted to let you know you are not alone :0)
