About 6 months I decided I tried to block those adds by building my site inside a new window, the site was full flash, the old pop ups that they use to put in the sites were not able to be viewed when they deploy above a flash animation, (I'm sure you also noticed that.. )so I designed the website full flash, and I got basicly a free ad website.
I believe I was not the only one who did this... cause since some weeks ago, geocities came up with a new pop up.. this one deploys like the old ones... but they are capable to be viewed above of a flash animation:
<Sorry, no personal URLs. See TOS [webmasterworld.com]>
(go to this site, make clic in the middle, this will launch the main page of this test site I am building)
This banners are really anoying... I dont know what to do... I check the html code from this pop op as well as the code geocities put in your site...
I was thinking maybe Some of you guys can help me... the pop ups appears really bad in the site... I am sure I am not the only one with this problem....
I'v read somewhere html can work on layers... perhaps puting my site in a top layer or something.... I don't know....
PLEASE HELP!

Firstly, you might want to check out the Terms of service [webmasterworld.com] for the forum, which amongst other things does not permit the posting of personal URLs.
There is also another reason why you shouldn't post the URL of your site: this forum has members who work for Yahoo (which owns Geocities). As blocking or attempting to block ads is strictly forbidden according to the Geocities terms of service, it wouldn't be difficult for them to pass a message on to one of their colleagues who would wipe all trace of your site from their servers without the slightest warning.
If you get caught blocking ads, your site will be deleted, and quite rightly so. As Birdman says, if you want ad-free hosting, you'll have to pay for it.
