hi all,

i have a simple site, mostly css, xhtml.. not that i think this matters..
but i have a largish banner as my page image on all the pages..
when using Internet Explorer the banner flicks when the page reloads into a new page - as the banner is the same on all the pages..
firefox doesnt experience the same problems..
would it not flicker so much, if i chopped the banner image up, (i know i should do this anyway as norton seems to dissapear banner size images) or is there some css setting i could use.

sorry not much good at explaining.

tia

Hi natty,

What file size is this banner image? If it is very large you may be seeing a latency in loading the image from the local cache.

Have a look at compressing the image and making the file ligher. If it is a very large (dimension wise) image then splitting it up may be advisable. Also, try cutting out lots of high definition photos and lots of colour gradients which all add to the file size of an image.
