problems opening hotmail attachments

Can anyone tell me why I suddenly cant download attachments sent with e-mails in Hotmail and also why I can activate any http links that are in my received hotmail messages?

The downloading attachments is a strange one - I wonder if it has something to do with Hotmails virus scanner? Are you getting an error of any sort? Can you see the link to the attachment?

As far as I know Hotmail will automatically convert URLs that it 'sees' in messages to hyperlinks. There may be a setting to display mail as text rather than HTML/Rich Text.
