hi all,

probobly not th eplace to post this but you never know..
just got a new pc with win98 on it, and having cleaned it slightly i am beset by the old content advisor passowrd, not allowing me to access the internet without a password.
im wondering if anyone knows that if i install IE6 over the top, whether it will lose the password( which would be nice) or if there is anything else i could try short of reinstalling the whole thing..

You could use the RegMon.exe program (or possibly FileMon.exe) that can be downloaded from sysinternals.com

With this, you may be able to track the location of the data store and delete it.

You need experience for this sort of hacking but if you are faced with having to do a complete reinstall, it might be a worthwhile exercise.

A little time Googling may provided a better suggestion.
