i don't know where this message is supposed to go. i want to make guestbook. i don't know if i should use cgi or php. if anyone could help that would be great, thanks

There are a load of good guestbook scripts out there, available in both Perl/CGI and PHP. The choice of language for your script depends on your experience (if any) with the language in question, and which one you are more interested in learning. Bear in mind you won't usually need to learn either language for a simple script installation.

Both Perl and PHP are very relevant these days - PHP is usually considered easier to learn and it's popularity is growing. Perl is more complex, but it is still popular.

try php first.. pearl is too hard for new comer to pick up right away.. and php can integrate very well with HTML, it is also very powerful as you dig deeper into it..

thanks. I have books on both of them, but they all have the entries put onto a .txt file. is there a way to .html files?
