Anyone know the basis of its HTML viewer

This seems like the best forum of the lot for this question.

Have a client that wants an HTML email sent out to a mailing list.

Email is done and formatted. Sent to client for approval. Client gets an almost plain text version. Almost, I say, because one image goes along for the ride and shows up where its supposed to. All the styling, including background image is gone.

Same email is fine in major email programs that I could test with.

Client uses Poco Mail, which I have never hear of. Poco Mail website states, "Unlike some competing products, PocoMail doesn't use the Internet Explorer component to preview your HTML messages. Instead it uses an internal HTML viewer."

So, I'm suspecting that the problem may lie with the internal HTML viewer. Searching the Poco Mail site and forums I can't find anything suggesting what the internal viewer might be based on, nor any reference to similar problem.

Too lazy to sign up for the forums with one measly question on a program that I will most likely never have need to reference again, so I thought I would check in here and see if anyone has a clue.

Is your client behind a firewall &/or corporate email server? Some companies filter html in a fun variety of weird and wonderful ways.

I am concluding that it is an artifact of poco Mail. It is possible that the client has a filter set to strip HTML, since that appears to be a feature. We spent about 45 minutes on the phone today trying to work through it. I may end up having to download the program to see if I can figure it out.

Seems to be a pretty much unknown email client.

Poco works pretty well, actually, and in several years of my usage, I never saw the problem you describe. Nor did my wife on her machine in another location. Since I finally managed to dump Windows entirely a couple of years ago, I have no idea what the current version looks like.

If you cannot be bothered to sign up for the Poco Forum (which takes no more time than it took me to sign up for this one simply to respond to your question), then send email to support@pocomail.com.

Whether you will receive an immediate response I don't know, since it is the purpose of support forums to answer support questions so both question and response are known to anyone else who may have the same issue.

Just like here.
