Is this possible?

I just tried to install IE5, but it wouldn't let me because I had installed.
I had to uninstall 6 before I could install 5.
I bet if I try to install 5.5 now it will just upgrade the 5 version.

It would be great to be able to do this for obvious reasons. (padding issues mainly)

thanks wruk999 for pointing me to that very interesting article.
I now have 5.0.1 and 6 set up but 5.5 seems to always reder the way 6 does and in every test I do tells me that it is 6.0 ....I'll mess about with it some more.

On a slightly different slant, I was wondering how much different OS make to browser rendering. Obviously mac is different, but what about the difference with 98, 98SE, 2000, ME and XP?
Is it necessary to test all browsers on all OS?
Or is html/css rendering purely browser dependant?

yes , thanks drdoc.
I left out the IEXPLORE.EXE.local file in the 5.5 version and realised shartly after I posted.
Got all working now in XP and in 98SE.

But what about the different Windows OS's?
Is it necessary to test in all OS's?

The rendering engine is the same for each version across different Windows version... However, you will still need to test in IE/Mac
