I don't know whether anyone has come across this before...

Previously I had been able to use the full features of my Hotmail account with Firefox 0.8, however now when I log in I get the following message:

Web Browser Software Limitations

Your Current Software Will Limit Your Ability to Use Hotmail

You are using a web browser that Hotmail does not support. If you continue to use your current browser software we cannot guarantee that Hotmail will work correctly for you.

We recommend that you upgrade your web browsing software and invite you to download Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.

I can still check emails, however I was unable to send mail.

"Upgrade" to IE6 from Firefox? :)

Well, hotmail works fine in my Firefox 0.8
Have you installed the User Agent Switcher for Firefox? The problem *could* be that the User Agent string you're sending could be something non-standard.

Yes, works fine here too - that message usually pops up only if you're using a really old browser.

Have you disabled javascript?

Well, I just tried sending hotmail with Firebird 0.5 (Dec 2002) and it worked fine. Netscape 4 was ok until about 6 months ago too, until they introduced all that unnecessary JavaScript.
