Site not validating - but will it hurt my site?

My site does not validate - it has 46 errors according to W3C validator. But the errors are all to do with FP2000 page-includes (it includes <nobr> tags and it seems impossible to remove them).
Will these 46 errors hurt my site in any way?

It could mean that blind or partially sighted people have trouble using the site.

You should be able to take the FP tags out.

As far as I know, it won't hurt your site as far as the SE's are conserned. I may be wrong.

I have tried and tried to remove the tags but with no success (drat). They are included in the menus that I have on the left and bottom of my pages and are "automatically" included.
But 46 errors seems to be quite a lot?

It entirely depends on the error. Missing the closing angle bracket (>) on the <html> element can be fatal as far as SEs goes. Misspelling

But, in general, it's always good to strive for validation. There is really no reason for anyone to want to have a page that does not validate. There are no benefits from having a page filled with errors, while there are potential (sometimes unknown) benefits of having a page that does validate.

If you ae using a product that produces illegal HTML, then report it and get it fix; or return it under warranty.

There can be no excuse for software with unfixed bugs. Use your consumer rights.

The non-validating factor is that FP2000 automatically produces <nobr> tags in the menus (which are non-validating according to todays standards), and I wondered if this would hurt my site? I don't really want to have non-validating pages - I have asked the FP Forum if there is a fix for this, but in the meantime I don't want to be running a site that is getting hurt by the SEs.
I wouldn't term it as "illegal" html, just producing html that wasn't considered non-validating in 2000.
