center DIV on screen - Mac

anybody knows how to center a layer verticaly and horizontaly so that the code does not break down when viewd on Mac OS9 IE5?

having one code that works for major browsers (on both PC and Mac) would be great but if you have alternative for just the Mac IE, I can still do platform sniffing and redirect as neccessary.

Only have IE 4.5 here in classic at the moment so I can't check this but try the technique at:

if you know the exact size of your layer.

No .js needed either.
