Newbie requests best site to review for browser compatability

Hi,
Newbie here. How do you guys check your webpages for comaptability in older versions of the popular browsers. I have the latest versions on IE and NN downloaded but won't let me download any earlier versions?
I guess there is an easy answer, right?

You can check cross browser compatability at anybrowser.com, get a trial at netmechanic.com, you can download and install older versions of netscape as well from evolt.org
