Hi,
Newbie here - please bear with me. I have built my first website with approx 100 pages and most of it looks fine on my PC and those of my frineds in different countries. But when I checked my HTML code with a free HTML checker, it showed that I had about 200 HTML errors on my home page! Yikes!
Are there any free HTML repair tools out there that would help me to repair most of these errors?

I'm sure you're right.
What I don't understand is that for a year and half it was always #1-#5 on the page for any keywords that were related or that were found anywhere on my page. At that time, I did not have the Document tag or content tag that you and DrDoc gave me in the post above. I had never tried to validate it and when I did it was loaded with errors (mostly nesting errors). Someone searched for "sailing sunsets" and I was #3 on the search with two Carribean sites ahead of me. LOL I had the words sailing and sunsets in my text not my meta tags. Then suddenly I disappeared. Now I am still listed but don't come up. What comes up now are mostly sites that have nothing to do with what I search for. For some reason I was found easily before even on the sites that you had to pay to be included. I still come up on all the other sites. Thanks to all the help from here, hopefully now it is done right and will appear again. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT to help people that really don't know what we're doing. It is very much appreciated. What would we do without "teachers"? You help without making us feels so dumb. THANK YOU!

hmm...
i might need some help.
if I use CSE Validator, I fix all the errors and everything works great. but if i use the [validator.w3.org...] as mentioned, i get problems. i'm wondering if i can email someone a couple files or a zip file with my htm files to see if anyone else can figure this out =/

sticky email me if you can, thanks!

Another question. What does this mean?

document type does not allow element "P" here; missing one of "APPLET", "OBJECT", "MAP", "IFRAME", "BUTTON" start-tag
I am using <p> to start a new paragraph. I deleted all the </p> from the page since W3C says it is not needed. Help! Also if you don't use <font color="?"> or any of the other font tags what do you use in the place of it. Very Confusing!

This has already become off-topic for the original subject. These issues really need their own threads. Thanks.
